Responsible gambling on Roobet: limits, time-out, self-exclusion
Play with crypto is play with real money and can cause harm. The operator admits players aged 18 and over, or the local age of majority if higher, and provides limit, time-out and self-exclusion tools in the account settings. This page lists those tools, the steps to set a limit and to self-exclude, the consequences for the Vault and bonuses, the account deletion route, the signs of risk and the free help organisations. It is not legal advice.
Checked on
Risk statement and the 18+ rule
Every casino game and every sports market carries a margin for the operator; over many bets the expected result for the player is a loss. The minimum age on the platform is 18 or the local age of majority, whichever is higher (Terms, section 8.1), and one account per person is allowed (Terms, section 6).
- the house edge of the Originals is not published, so the margin cannot be computed from the operator's pages;
- slots and live games follow the RTP set by their providers;
- crypto balances change in value with the market even when no bet is placed;
- money lost in play is not recoverable through the complaint route.
The guide does not encourage play. Whether access is lawful depends on the law of the reader's country and on the operator's Terms, as set out in the chapter on licence and legal status.
The Roobet guide opens with an overview of the catalogue, the cashier, the rewards and the licence; this chapter goes into one part of it in detail.
Signs of risk
The organisations listed further down describe behaviours that signal a problem. A reader who recognises several of them can use the tools below or contact a help organisation.
- betting more money or more often than planned;
- chasing losses with larger bets;
- borrowing money or selling assets to keep playing;
- hiding play from family or friends;
- playing to escape stress, anxiety or low mood;
- neglecting work, study or sleep because of play;
- feeling restless or irritable when not playing.
The help organisations listed below are free and confidential. The self-assessment of BeGambleAware, linked from the operator's page, gives a structured check.
Tools in the account
The tools are described at roobet.com/responsible-gambling, at roobet.com/safe-gambling and in the Help Center articles on gambling limits and self-exclusion. They apply to the account, not to a single game. Session limits and reality checks are not offered.
| Tool | Options | Scope | Rules |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wager limit | Daily (24 h), weekly (7 days) or monthly (30 days) amount | Account | Up to 3 limits active at once; the period runs from the moment the limit is set |
| Loss limit | Daily, weekly or monthly amount | Account | Counted on net losses; same 3-limit cap and period rule |
| Deposit limit | Daily, weekly or monthly amount | Account | Caps deposits for the period; same 3-limit cap |
| Time-out | 24 hours | Whole platform | First step of the self-exclusion flow; password re-entry required |
| Self-exclusion | 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks, 1, 3, 6, 9 months, 1 year or permanent | Casino, sportsbook or whole platform | Starts after a 24-hour cooldown; cannot be ended early; unlocks automatically at the end |
The three limit types together may not exceed three active limits. The operator's page states self-exclusion periods of up to 5 years or permanent; the Help Center lists the options above.
How to set a limit
A limit caps wagers, net losses or deposits over the chosen period. The steps follow the gambling limits page of the account at roobet.com/safe-gambling?page=gambling-limits.
- Open the account settings and choose Responsible Gaming or Gambling Limits.
- Pick the limit type: wager, loss or deposit.
- Pick the period: daily, weekly or monthly.
- Enter the amount in USD and confirm.
- The limit counts from the moment it is set; up to three limits can be active at once.
The Help Center does not document a cooling-off period for raising a limit, so the guide gives none. A limit stays in force across the casino and the sportsbook.
How self-exclusion works
Self-exclusion runs in two steps. The first step is a 24-hour time-out; the second step, taken after that cooldown, sets the period and the scope. The exclusion is irreversible for its duration.
- Open the Responsible Gaming section of the account settings and start the time-out; the password is requested again.
- After the 24-hour cooldown, choose the scope: casino, sportsbook or the whole platform.
- Choose the period, from 1 day to permanent.
- Confirm; the exclusion cannot be shortened or cancelled and unlocks by itself when the period ends.
A permanent exclusion also blocks the creation of new accounts. A full-platform exclusion forfeits the Vault balance and any bonus progress, as the Help Center states; a casino-only or sportsbook-only exclusion leaves the other product open. Returning after a timed exclusion needs no application: access resumes at the end date.
Consequences for Vault, bonuses and the account
Exclusion and deletion interact with the rewards balances and with the account itself. The table sets out what happens in each case.
| Action | Vault and bonuses | Account |
|---|---|---|
| Limit | Unaffected | Open; play capped at the limit |
| Time-out (24 h) | Unaffected | Locked for 24 hours |
| Self-exclusion, casino or sportsbook only | Unaffected | The other product stays open |
| Self-exclusion, whole platform | Vault balance and bonus progress forfeited | Locked for the period; permanent exclusion blocks new accounts |
| Account deletion | Balances should be withdrawn first, subject to the wagering rule | Deleted after the email procedure |
Rakeback and Vault mechanics are described in the chapter on rewards; the wagering rule before a withdrawal in the withdrawal chapter.
Account deletion
Deletion is separate from self-exclusion and is handled by email for any account that has deposited or wagered.
- Send an email to CS@roobet.com with the subject "Account Deletion" from the registered address.
- The Help Center places the reply within 24–48 hours.
- A 48-hour cooldown follows the reply.
- Confirm within 24 hours of the confirmation email; otherwise the account stays open.
A new account with no deposits and no wagers closes through "Close My Account" in the privacy settings. The same steps, with the support addresses, are in the support chapter.
Free help organisations
The organisations below offer free and confidential help. The first two are linked from the operator's responsible gambling page; the guide adds two further services with an international reach.
| Organisation | What it offers | Linked by the operator |
|---|---|---|
| GamCare | Helpline, live chat and treatment information; gamcare.org.uk | Yes |
| BeGambleAware | Self-assessment and information; begambleaware.org | Yes |
| Gambling Therapy | Online support in several languages for people affected by gambling; gamblingtherapy.org | No |
| Gamblers Anonymous | Peer support meetings in many countries; gamblersanonymous.org | No |
The operator's page also names two parental filters, FamiSafe and Qustodio, for keeping the site away from minors, and runs a separate contact site at rooresponsibly.com.
