Roobet HiLo: higher, lower, same or skip
HiLo is the newest Roobet Original: the catalogue dates it to 10 October 2026 and marks it with the label New. A starting card is dealt, and the player predicts whether the next card will be higher, lower, the same, or a combination such as higher or same; each correct prediction multiplies the stake, and a skip replaces the current card without a prediction. The stake range is $0.01 to $20,000 and a single win is capped at $500,000. Verification uses six ingredients, including the list of actions taken and the rank and suit of the starting card.

Predictions, skips and the starting card
A round begins with one face-up card, the starting card. The player then makes a prediction about the next card from the set the fairness page lists: Higher, Higher or Same, Lower, Lower or Same, Same, and Skip. A correct prediction multiplies the stake by the value shown next to that choice and the new card becomes the current card; a wrong prediction ends the round. Skip discards the current card for a new one without a prediction, which is useful when the current card sits at an extreme of the rank order.
The multiplier of each choice depends on the current card: predicting higher on a low card is likely and pays little, predicting higher on a high card is unlikely and pays more. The game shows the value for every option before the click. The operator does not publish the edge of the Originals, and the exact multipliers are only visible on the panel. Cash Out is available after any correct prediction.
| Action | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Higher | the next card ranks above the current one |
| Higher or Same | the next card ranks above or equal |
| Lower | the next card ranks below the current one |
| Lower or Same | the next card ranks below or equal |
| Same | the next card has the same rank |
| Skip | replace the current card without a prediction |
The Roobet guide opens with an overview of the catalogue, the cashier, the rewards and the licence; this chapter goes into one part of it in detail.
A HiLo round
The card sits in the centre of the screen with the prediction buttons under it and the stake field to the side. Real rounds require a balance; Fun Play runs with play money. The game is for adults of 18 and over, and the responsible gambling page describes the limits an account can set.
- Open HiLo in the Roobet Originals row of the lobby.
- Enter the stake, from $0.01 to $20,000, and press Bet to receive the starting card.
- Read the multipliers next to Higher, Lower, Same and the combined options.
- Press a prediction, or press Skip to change the current card.
- Continue after each correct call, or press Cash Out to collect.
- Open the round in the history and copy the actions list for verification.
The verification modal of the game offers a button that copies the full list of actions to the clipboard.
Limits for HiLo
HiLo is covered by the general Originals limits of the Game Policy v4.5.0. A long chain of correct predictions on a large stake can reach the cap on a single win.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Minimum bet | $0.01 |
| Maximum bet | $20,000 |
| Maximum win per bet | $500,000 |
| Demo | Fun Play |
| Autobet | available on the Originals |
The rakeback rules for Originals wagers are in the rewards chapter; the Originals hub compares HiLo with the other card game of the line, the Blackjack Original.
Provably fair: six ingredients
HiLo has six ingredients on the fairness page: a server seed from the casino, a client seed from the player, a nonce that rises by one per bet, the actions taken, the starting card rank and the starting card suit. The last three come from the player's round: the actions in the order they were made, which the game's verification modal can copy to the clipboard, and the rank and suit of the card the round began with. The SHA256 hash of the server seed is shown before play, and the client seed can be changed before any bet.
On verification the casino reveals the server seed, re-runs the ingredients to regenerate the sequence of cards, and resets the nonce and the server seed. Hashing the revealed seed and comparing it with the earlier hash confirms the seed was fixed in advance. The Verify Results button on the Hilo tab of roobet.com/fair replays the round with the pasted actions and starting card. The chapter on fairness and licensing covers the principle for all games.
- server seed: hashed before play, revealed on request;
- client seed: the player's input, editable up to the moment of the bet;
- nonce: +1 per bet, reset on reveal;
- actions taken: the ordered list of Higher, Lower, Same, Skip and combined calls;
- starting card rank and starting card suit: the first card of the round.
HiLo mistakes and fixes
The slips in HiLo come from the combined options, the skip button and the verification inputs.
| Mistake | Consequence | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Choosing Higher when Higher or Same was intended | a card of the same rank loses the round | read the two button labels before clicking |
| Skipping repeatedly to wait for an extreme card | every skip changes the card but not the seeds; the sequence is fixed | skip only when the current card gives poor options |
| Verifying without the actions list | the round cannot be replayed | copy the list from the verification modal |
| Entering the wrong starting card | the regenerated sequence differs | take rank and suit from the round details |
| Expecting the New label to mean different fairness rules | the game uses the same seed scheme as the other Originals | check the Hilo tab on the fairness page |
